About event
VocaYou and the power of voice open the 29th Berlin A Cappella Festival in the Café Theater Schalotte!
VocaYou – a cappella band from Berlin – delight their audience with a diverse program of well-known jazz and pop arrangements, swing pieces and songs from different cultures and languages.
The singers show the entire range of vocal sounds: sometimes emotional solos, rocky improvisations and funky “brass sounds” that in the next moment merge perfectly into five-part singing.
“Colour” doesn’t just stand for the band’s bright outfits and their multi-faceted program, but also for cultural diversity and tolerance. In addition to well-known songs such as “Sound of Silence”, “Feeling good” and “True Colors”, there are also pieces that make you think and bring the meaning of a “colorful world” to the fore.
VocaYou set their own accent in a cappella singing with their “colorful” program.
The program is one thing above all: definitely not boring!
Vocal power represents a genre that has never existed before: “Dark A Cappella”.
With twelve voices, the singers create a sound spectrum that ranges from fragile harmonies to brutal energy. Epic original compositions as well as classics from the gothic, metal and rock genres join the acoustic kaleidoscope with growls and vocal percussion and promise an unusual experience.
The Berlin band has been delighting people live with their unique sound for over ten years. The debut album “Eskhatophonia” was released in 2023, produced by Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost). This year, Stimmestimme presented themselves to 25,000 visitors at the M'era Luna Festival in Hildesheim - a concert that can now also be seen in the arte media library.
"Dark A Cappella" by Stimmestimme is more than an unusual concept. It is a musical experience that promises goosebumps and takes you a cappella into a new, dark dimension.
