What does the day look like?
Street photography is characterized by capturing undirected images in a journalistic atmosphere. The people in the photo are not aware that they are being photographed. Of course you must deal with this with integrity, but the images are stronger when the people in the photo are not aware of this. Photographer Arnold van der Zee explains how to do this. He also teaches you about the settings of your camera and shows that a nice depth of field (or blur depth) gives an even stronger image. A lot of street photography is done in black and white. A lot of contrast increases the atmosphere of the photo. How do you deal with this? All of this is discussed during this Street Photography workshop in the Jordaan.
