About event
The Old Town of Bratislava is like a book that some chapters are missing.
Many important buildings, monuments and spaces that had an essential part of his panorama a hundred or two hundred years ago were lost as a result of wars, stormy political changes or insensitive urban interventions. Jewish Podhradie. Today there is no longer Jewish street in its original form - with old burgher houses, shops and schools.
The Church of Sts. Lawrence at the Laurinská gate, as well as several smaller monasteries and chapels that completed the spiritual picture of the city. Today, their presence is reminded only of memorial plates and tiles. In addition to the monument of Maria Theresa near the Danube, the fountain of Karolína Augusta and many others also disappeared.
What was their fate?
What about other important places of your time? It carried stories of burghers, monarchs, spiritual and ordinary people. Their extinction reminds us of how fragile the cultural heritage is and how easily it can be erased.
Wandering in the footsteps of lost dominants is not only a historical excursion, but also a reflection: what we want to preserve for the future and what can become another chapter of the "lost city". However, we will commemorate them with photos that will bring us closer to the view of our ancestors, which we compare with our view during the tour. 19:30
Meeting: Marian Column - Franciscan Square, BA

- of which 2,3 km accessible by wheelchair
