Populists often have the upper hand not only in Slovakia, but also in other countries. They win elections, form governments, grow in preferences. One of the reasons is that they allow themselves much more in the campaign and communication with people than democratic politicians. They simplify cases, attack emotions, communicate aggressively. Politics becomes an emotionally charged theater.
Should the democratic part of the spectrum also follow the path of sharper language and evoking passions? Can populists be defeated with their own weapons? And is it reasonable for the future?
