The international conference Center of Interest: Culture in Uncertainty is intended for active workers in the cultural sector and for all those interested in the current state of the world affecting culture.
The conference reflects on twenty years since joining the EU, when we are faced with disinformation campaigns and the onset of a populist style of governance. Society splits into smaller ideological units. Culture, the arts and the non-profit sector play an important role as mediators and interpreters, while providing a safe and inspiring place. Is culture sufficiently active in the development of a healthy civil society?
From 1 p.m. - When political populism destroys culture - present the current situation in Slovakia, Hungary and Poland.
From 4 p.m. :30 - How culture and education support dialogue - will focus on the practice of cultural organizations outside big cities, where the cultural offer is limited.
From 18:30 - Talks - 11 personalities from different sectors will present their experiences with activities that develop an active civil society.
Let's show together that even in uncertain times we can think positively, critically and look for a way out.
We look forward to an inspiring meeting on November 7, 2024 at the Pod Palmovkou Theatre!
