About event
We cordially invite you to another lecture from the Medieval Jinax cycle!
A lecture called Fascism vs. The late antiquity will take place on Thursday, October 23 at 19:00 at the Hans Belting Library on the ground floor of the building to the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University (Veveří 470/28, Brno). The lecture will be Michaela Jánešová, who will take us to the eternal city this time. Sabiny, which took place in the first half of the 20th century under the leadership of the art historian and administrator of the Roman monuments Antonio Muñoza. But when you walk through a restored basilica surrounded by white walls, dominated by large windows, does it feel much more than in the Christian temple as at the Roma Termini station? What led Antonio Muñoze to return to the 5th century just at a time when the fascist regime came to power in Italy? We can the final form of St. Sabiny consider as an effort to revival late ancient visual culture, or is it modern, especially fascist invention? And isn't it how we interpret the past, always by reflection of our present? href = "www.youtube.com/@cecent_recent/streams"> www.youtube.com/@cecent_Recent/streams
