People love to hate on Dutch cuisine as 'boring' food. These days, local food covers so much more than just stamppot & bitterballen; it's a cultural melting pot taking on the flavours of the country's ethnic residents.
Challenging the Dutch food stereotype are fellow expats Guy & Inbal. After moving to Amsterdam, the former fashion photographer and his creative wife decided to heed their new calling: becoming Amsterdam's food ambassadors by starting Streatbites.com.
The couple are offering our community an exclusive experience of discovering the flavours of Amsterdam’s famous Albert Cuyp Market and the vibrant streets surrounding it.
"During this 3-hour walking food tour , we’ll take guests on a culinary journey where they’ll taste the best of Dutch classics and authentic dishes from Indonesian and Surinamese cuisines. The tour not only lets you experience the incredible flavors of the city, but also takes you off the beaten path. We’ll visit local, family-owned businesses that even long-time residents might have missed, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how these culinary treasures are made. Along the way, guests will hear the inspiring stories behind the businesses and the people who run them."
We're told that the generous tastings add up to more than a full meal —and we'll be guaranteed stuffed by the end of the tour :), so do come hungry!
Their often sold-out tours are priced at €85 but they are offering our community an exclusive discount of €79 per ticket, excl. eventbrite service costs.
- Weather : Don’t worry about rain – we’ll go on, rain or shine! Just dress appropriately and bring an umbrella.
- Dietary Needs : We can cater for vegetarians , but unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate vegans as many of the dishes include non-vegan ingredients. If you have any food restrictions or allergies , please contact us before booking so we can ensure a great experience for everyone.
