Gallery Rozkvet with great pleasure will present the current creation of visual artist Juraj Florek. Urban space. It plays with the specifics of the historical landscape painter, but it turns its traditional optics towards the "seemingly minor corners" of the city, the civilian spatial situations that occur in this environment. The resulting image is not a construct, as the author's own perception of its own urban habitat and the subsequent celebration of this place through a painting in a specifically juicy “Florek” painter's language is essential for the author. The exhibition at the Gallery will dialogical overlap Budapest, Czech but also the author's native Dolno Kbin scenery. In 2014 he won the first prize in the competition VUB Painting of the Year (Bratislava SVK). He actively paints, exhibits and participated in many residential stays abroad. /2024 - Saffca.eu - Ensav La Cambre, Art Residency, Brussels (Be), 2021 - Eva Kahan Artist Residence San Sano/Tuscany (IT), 2018 - CSW Kronika - Current Art Center, Bytoma (PL), 2017 - Studio, Art Residency, Prague (CZ) etc. In March 2018, he published a book Director (Slovart Publishing 2018) - The first book on the phenomenon of Urbex - research of abandoned places in Slovakia.
