Where does historical fact end and legend begin? We invite you to a series of lectures and discussions for senior citizens with experts from the Museum of the City of Bratislava, who will present fascinating personalities, archaeological discoveries and lesser-known chapters of our history. Together we will look into the world of historical sources and discover how our knowledge of the past is created.

The lecture of archaeologist Jana Mellnerová Šuteková will present a unique discovery from Devín Castle, which archaeologists came across just 40 years ago - a charred loaf of bread. It lay in the bread oven in the grain mixture for more than 1500 years.

Even today, it is the center of attention of scientists and brings new information as well as other questions about the life of people in the late Roman period in our territory. Not only will we talk more about his research, but this year we have a unique opportunity to see the original find in the premises of the Old Town Hall.
