Stretnime sa v múzeu: Legenda Ovídia Fausta (prednášky pre seniorov)

Let's meet in the museum series: Fact vs. fiction invites seniors to discover stories hidden behind historical sources, legends and common ideas about the past. 📜

THE LEGEND OF OVIDUS FAUST

Why is historical knowledge still evolving? Is it due to new historical and archaeological discoveries, changing criteria in society, or a combination of both? 🔎

And how much do historians themselves shape historical knowledge? This topic will be presented by historian Štefan Hrivňák using the example of Ovíd Faust, an important Bratislava interwar historian, archivist and museum curator. 🏛️

Faust built an authority that has survived to this day. He shaped his historical knowledge as a unique personality under the influence of his own life experiences, education, ambitions and the social and political situation of the time.
