Australian artist Stuart Ringholt became famous for his emotionally charged performances, especially Workshops of Anger or "naked" gallery tours. The international audience could also meet his work at world art shows such as dOCUMENTA, Biennale Singapore, Sydney Biennale, etc.
Stuart Ringholt will present himself to the domestic audience three times during his stay in the Czech Republic this year: In a conversation with curator, artist and pedagogue (NYU Stern) Tim Gilman-Ševčík, he will first present his work and artistic thinking at CSU Prague. In particular, he will explain the concept of the Anger Workshops and try to convince the visitors that our anger does not have to be seen only as a negative emotion, but rather can serve us as a useful tool for managing stress. In the Window Gallery (Institute of Art History, Husinecká 4), this artist will exhibit his latest paintings; in the SCHULE cultural center in Orlické hory, he will finally present a new sculptural installation during the summer. In practice, he will present one of his Anger Workshops here.
The curator of all three projects presented in the Czech Republic will be Tim Gilman-Ševčík, with whom Ringholt has been working for more than two decades.
The presentation will take place in English.
The event will take place in the CSU Prague café and auditorium.
Free entry.

Anger Workshop
Anger Workshops are active meditations designed to promote physical and mental health including the promotion of stress reduction. Anger Workshops seek to challenge the prevailing belief that anger is a negative emotion and seek to equip people with alternative tools for dealing with stress in their daily lives. The workshops will include a presentation by the artist as well as a roundtable discussion.
