About event
High school students from the chalk revolution continue to invite politicians to our cafe to ask them about current problems and their future. This time, former Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and former Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger accepted their invitation. This is a great opportunity for discussion.
The current political situation in the Czech Republic and its direction is very similar to the direction taken by Slovakia after the re-election of Robert Fico as Prime Minister. However, it is also important to compare the situation in both countries and Fico's template, which is followed by the new government of Andrej Babiš.
We will discuss Czech politics, its similarities with the Slovak situation and we will compare both scenarios. However, we will also discuss democracy, public media and culture and their importance for a strong and resilient democratic society. We are also looking forward to your questions from the audience, for which there will be plenty of space. The discussion is open not only to students, but also to the general public. The moderators will again be Jakub Filek and his classmate from the Varšavská Gymnasium, Michal Labaj.
Entrance is free, but you can reserve a place for the debate by making a voluntary contribution - supporting the activities of the Student Club in the New Synagogue.
The discussion is organized by the initiative of Žilina and Sučian high school students, whose members met in November 2025 with chalk in hand at Hlinkovo námestí, and then we opened a space for their activities as part of the Tomáš Rafa Biennale of Cultural Resistance exhibition.
