About event

STUDIO AKON: Nazi Continuities at Art Schools
How do anti-Semitic thought patterns and structures from the National Socialist era continue to have an impact in art and science today? And what significance does coming to terms with it have for dealing with current anti-Semitism?

The Amadeu Antonio Foundation's STUDIO AKON project brings together researchers, cultural institutions and those involved in civil society who are working on the historical and social coming to terms with anti-Semitic continuities.
On November 6th, 2025, experts from art schools and research will discuss the institutional and aesthetic aftereffects of the Nazis on artistic Training locations:

6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Hansabibliothek Berlin (admission from 5:30 p.m.)
With:

Nanne Buurman (Central Institute for Art History)
Christina Brinkmann (Burg Giebichenstein, Halle/Saale)
Andree Korpys (HfK Bremen)
Nanna Lüth (UDK Berlin)
Michaela Melián (HfBK Hamburg)

The event is part of a public series that focuses on the connection between culture of remembrance, anti-Semitism research and artistic practice.
