Come to Studio Martínek to be the first to listen to the new Floex Ensemble album and meet its authors! It will not be officially released until the fall of this year, the baptism in Archa+ is scheduled for November 8. But you will have the unique opportunity to hear it already on August 20th as part of the first Audiophile Sessions of the year - almost two months before the release, with commentary from the creators themselves and from the high-end speakers of our sound director.
The moderated listening evening will traditionally be led by Dan Sywala (ČT art, ČRo Jazz, Full Moon). You will learn behind-the-scenes stories about the creation of the album, interesting things from the recording and you will have the opportunity to meet the authors in a private atmosphere with a very limited number of listeners.
About the album Directors:
Directors is the new author's album by Floex and Jan Šiklo, which connects the world of analog synthesizers with the color of an acoustic sextet. The conceptual record explores different ways of perceiving reality and the creative process through imaginary "directors" - each of them represents a different view of the world and music.
The album was created for the six musicians of the Floex Ensemble. The ensemble, which was created as an occasional project for live performance of Floex soundtracks, turned into an autonomous author group thanks to long-term cooperation with composer and conductor Jan Šikl, and with this album officially started a new stage of its existence. at Studio Martínek. While its official release isn't until this autumn, with the album launch concert scheduled for 8 November at Archa+, you'll have the unique opportunity to hear it on 20 August at this year's first Audiophile Session - nearly two months before its official release - while the album's authors share the stories behind the music, all through the high-end monitoring system in our control room.
The evening will once again be hosted by Dan Sywala (ČT art, Czech Radio Jazz, Full Moon). This moderated listening session will alternate between tracks from the album and a conversation with its authors, offering behind-the-scenes stories about the music and insights into the recording process. With only a very limited audience, the event offers a rare opportunity to experience the album in an intimate setting and enjoy informal conversations with its authors.
About Directors
Directors is the new collaborative album by Floex and Jan Šikl, bringing together the world of analog synthesizers with the rich timbre of an acoustic sextet. This conceptual work explores different ways of perceiving reality and the creative process through a series of imaginary "directors," each representing a distinct perspective on the world and on music.
Through the six musicians of Floex Ensemble, the project demonstrates how instrumental music can be deeply emotional and full of dramatic turns, how electronics can unfold with orchestral scope, and how classical music can carry an unexpected sense of momentum and immediacy.
