The "suggestum" project (from Latin, meaning "elevated platform, stage, platform") brings evenings combining staged readings of contemporary literature and electronic music.
This time suggestum presents a set of texts from the pen of the unmistakable Jana Wernerová. Dear Zdena, Dorota, Eržika - is it possible to find the strength to wake up from the habit, break the bonds of routine and regain the desirability that time takes away? Jana Werner's three short stories map the invisible spaces and paths of women, leading from one transformation to another, from a deceptive dream to a final decision. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Dead Janitor.
JANA WERNEROVÁ is a theater and radio actress. She studied acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. After completing her studies, she got a job in a stone theater, but she soon exchanged the certainty of a monthly salary for uncertain creative freedom. In 2005, in Košice, she and her colleagues founded the independent theater NA PERÓNE, where she works as an artistic director, director, actress, screenwriter and project manager. All these professions combine into a versatile theater actress, which she wanted to become since childhood. She traveled around the world with the theater, and the theater's author's productions were seen by the audience at festivals in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, France, England, Sweden, Bulgaria, Germany and on off-Broadway in New York. In addition to theater, he writes short stories and original radio plays for youth and adults. In 2023 and 2024, she placed in the final of the author's literary competition POVIEDKA, and in March 2026, her book debut was published by the Artforum publishing house.
DEAD JANITOR is a project of the Košice creator Braň Findrík, who has been active on the alternative music scene for more than 15 years. His work is characterized by complex melodic structures wrapped in oscillating multi-dimensional sounds.
