"What is to have a good conversation? Gindl was a country that cannot be crossed in a year, ”writes Tomáš Hučko at the beginning of the book of Interviews with Eugene Gindl, published in 2022 (KPTL publishing house).
Eugen Gindl (1944 - 2021) was an important Slovak reporter, journalist, screenwriter, playwright and civic activist. In interviews with Tomáš Huček, he talks about important milestones of his life - a reporter career, censorship during normalization and his film and theater projects. He remembers emigration to Germany after the occupation in 1968, the preparation of the Environmental Samizdat Bratislava/ aloud and his participation in the events of November 1989 and work in the public magazines, OS and Kozmos. But he also thinks about love for nature, cooperation with the StB or the future of the Slovak and world left.
The project "SugGestum" (from Latin, the meaning "raised platform, stage, peron") brings evenings connecting scenic reading of contemporary literature and electronic music. This evening will combine the scenic reading of the book of interviews with the experimental music project XYRRRRA46, which focuses on monotonous and structural sound.
The event under the auspices of the theater on the peron is curated by the pair Pavel Bakajsa and Dominika Moravčíková.

His literary and film journalism has been published in many Slovak and Czech periodicals (A2, dog wine, nomad, ¾, book revue, glossary, reason, domino forum, insine and others). For magazine X translated Slovak prosaic and poetic texts into English, in 2017 his translation of the cult book essay of H.Dhoreaua Walden, in 2018 Comics Maus and a book set of interviews with famous writers of the 50s of the 50s from Paris Review magazine, later John Fante's novel ask for dust. Hitchsa missionary position and novel Joseph Conrada Heart of Darkness. For Radio Devín, he wrote the radio games of K and Life in the Forest, both nominated for the best radio game of the year. His debut novel Chaconna was published at Brak. He lived in Prague for a long time, where, in addition to publishing activities and a study of philosophy at Charles University, he worked in Franz Kafka and served as a dramaturg in the Theater Association Studio Rote. In 2017, together with František Malík, he founded a critical cultural and social monthly capital. In 2020 he was nominated for the journalistic price.
