Evening Wednesday for young people and adults
Sála BDŽ - 196 seats
Premiere: 14/06/2024 at 18:00 in the Puppet Theater Žilina
Šlomo Lénard lives the carefree life of a ten-year-old boy. He grows up with his mother Magdalena, he likes the gym, his friends and especially the mountains that surround his hometown - Žilina. However, it is getting dark over Europe. With the Second World War comes harsh anti-Semitism and anti-Jewish laws that will mark the whole world once and for all. Hope is disappearing, there is more and more despair, and Šlomo and his mother are looking for rescue in the whirlwind of unrest. The story, based on real events, invites the viewer to search for humanity regardless of the time in which he lives, and also to look into the history of his own country; that one day he could change her future. The production was based on the themes of the books Jews in Žilina, Jews in Žilina: Personalities by Peter Frankl and Fields of Memories by Šlom Breznitz.
Text and direction: Matej Truban
Dramaturgy: Michal Onduš
Scenography and costumes: Michaela Urbanová
Projections: David Javorský
Music: Michal Mikuláš
Starring: Martin Frank, Bibiana Tarasovičová, Miloš Tvrdý, Peter Kováč/ Tomaš Jančúch
Age category: 12+

The creation of the production was supported from public funds by the Art Support Fund.
