Pragovka Gallery cordially invites you to the performative lecture Andreas Philippopoulos-Mihalopoulos: A Contract Unto Hydrojustice / Hydra: The Contract, which will take place on July 10 from 16:00 as part of the Summer School – Becoming an Octopus program.

"Hydra: The Contract" is an immersive performative situation in which the audience is invited to enter into a speculative contract between bodies of water. The performance takes the form of a private liturgy that connects all those present with each other and with the bodies of water to which we as humans belong. The event is introduced by a performative reading followed by a discussion. Based on the author's recent book Hydrojustice (Cambridge: Polity, 2025).

Andreas Philippopoulos-Mihalopoulos is an artist / academic / fiction writer. In his practice, he combines performance, legal theory, ecological pedagogy, spatial justice, video art, installation, hydro theory and other forms of interdisciplinary research. He is Professor of Law and Theory at the University of Westminster and Director of the Westminster Law & Theory Lab. He is the author of a number of professional and fictional books, including Hydrojustice (2025), Spatial Justice: Body Lawscape Atmosphere (2014) and the novel Our Distance Became Water (2023). His work was presented, for example, at the Palais de Tokyo, at the Venice Biennale or at the Tate Modern.
