We dance barefoot or in socks, in comfortable, optimally clean clothes, ideally with long sleeves.

The space is open from 6 o'clock. Come tune in, warm up, land, so we can start at 18:30 with a circle and joint tune-in (lead-in). At 18:40 we have to lock the space for security reasons, so please arrive on time.

From 18:00 to 18:30 there is also the opportunity to "lab" - research any questions, topics and ambiguities that interest you in connection with contact improvisation (CI). Labs are open to everyone, especially recommended if you are new to CI. Contact any of us, we will be happy to attend to you.

Contact improvisation (contact improvisation, abbreviated CI) is a form of movement improvisation. Its basis is sharing weight with one or more people and exploring the physical potential of the human body. It was initiated by the American choreographer Steve Paxton in 1972, and since then it has been and continues to be shaped by a number of dance personalities. There are many ways to define CI and its practice continues to evolve and transform.

Here you will find some of them:

For us, contact improvisation is a practice where movement emerges from listening to the body and connecting with a deeper body perception. Contact with a partner is then an invitation to transfer this listening into a jointly created movement, where at the same time we remain autonomous beings.

Our wish is to create a safe nurturing space at the pits, a jointly held field where we can open up to the intelligence of our bodies, explore and experience their movement possibilities, qualities, creativity and connectedness.

We will be happy to spread the invitation to those who could interested.

We look forward to meeting you at the dance!

Your questions and suggestions are welcome.

We see Contact Improvisation also as a practice where movement develops from listening to the body and from deeper bodily connection. Contact with a partner is then an invitation to transfer this listening into a jointly created movement, while we remain autonomous beings at the same time.

Our wish is to create a safe and mutually nourishing space, a jointly held field where we can open to the intelligence of our bodies, explore and experience its creativity, movement possibilities, qualities and interconnectedness.

We would be grateful if you share this info among those who might be interested.

We are looking forward to meeting you in the dance!
