About event
My name is Michal Hertlík, I am 31 years old, I am from the small town of Handlová and I am currently living in Bratislava. I am a traveler, photographer, adventurer, documentary filmmaker, collector, journalist, author of travel articles, lecturer, private guide, Spanish and Slovak teacher, Latin American lover.
I recently returned from Surinam, where I spent two months and traveled a whole country that is an absolute travel sensation and unknown, undiscovered destination. The largest jungle of the world with 93% of its territory covered by the endless forest, wild animals and birds, authentic Indian tribes, indigenous communities of descendants of African slaves with preserved traditions and way of life as in the 17th century, a blend of cultures and nations from all continents in the smallest country of South America . The only country on the continent with Dutch as an official language, wooden Colonial Dutch architecture registered in UNESCO, poverty in contrast to rich bearings of gold and bauxite, South American landscape tending to the Caribbean and the Caribbean lifestyle, a lively colorful carnival, an unrestrained tropical paradise that almost no one knows. I brought more than 16,000 photos from there and I am probably the first Slovak to document Surinam in depth.
