About event
“And I always wandered for love, always / For love, but I never found love.”
Heinrich Heine was a seeker. Whether for love, a different Germany or the security of maternal protection. In this musical reading, the focus is not only on Heine's political and literary life, but also on his personal longing. It is a poetic journey to a slightly different Heine, the great romantic of German literature and pioneer of European thought.
This reading by the great actress Suzanne von Borsody follows on from a Heine reading by her own mother, with whom she traveled very successfully throughout Germany over 30 years ago. She is accompanied musically by Kurt Holzkämper (double bass) and Chris Geisler (piano) in order to get closer to the extraordinary poet and person Heinrich Heine through the interpretive power of music and the new setting of his poems.
An evening full of poetry, jazz and sensuality!
