"I first visited the Holy Mountain of Athos during my studies of dentistry in Brno. Since then I have been returning there. It is one of the strangest and peaceful places I have ever known." Greece with twenty Orthodox monasteries. The entry of women has been banned there for almost a thousand years. It extends over an area of over 300 km², it is part of the EU - and yet it is a place that seems to have fallen from a different time. Danijel translated two books of one of the Czech monks who had stayed there for a long time and decided to share his experience and fascination with this place. he visits?
