Dear friends,
the date of the 2025 St. Martin's Lantern Parade connected with the charity market is already known. This year, the event will take place on November 8, 2025 (Saturday) from 4:30 p.m.
Autumn in Považská Bystrica already includes the St. Martin's Lantern Parade associated with the charity market.
This year it will take place on Saturday, November 8 at 4:30 p.m., starting at the district library, then the parade will move to Cooltajner.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THEM
- SAVE THE DATE: St. Martin's Lantern Parade will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025,
- the event starts at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the district library (Považská library in Považská Bystrica),
- shortly after the assembly, the parade will go through the city towards Cooltajner, led by St. Martin on horseback,
- after experience from previous years, we recommend warm clothing,
- (!) due to the unpredictable number of children, everyone provides a lantern for their child themselves,
- instead of lanterns, lanterns or other suitable light objects can also be used,
- for safety reasons, we recommend using LED lights instead of candles,
- upon arrival in Cooltajner/Corridor, a program will be prepared for children and adults,
- as the legend of St. Martin preaches, the event will have a charitable character 🙂
PROGRAMME:
- gathering in the parking lot near the library at 4:30 p.m.,
- please pay attention to the organizers' instructions on the spot,
- start of the parade at 4:45 p.m. from the parking lot, then following the pedestrian zone on Strede to Okružná and M. R. streets. Štefánika,
- move to Cooltajner,
- the legend of St. Martin, his cloak and St. Martin's rozhets,
- creative workshops for younger and older children on the theme of autumn and pre-Christmas names and the traditions associated with them,
- a fun theater performance by the creators of the Devil Kolofon about watermen and mermaids - Tdedy pod Šlosberg,
- charity fair with a tasting of young wine from Slovak vineyards, St. Martin's treats for young and old.
