About event
The war that the Russian army, supported by a section of society, has been waging against Ukraine since 2014 has drastically changed Ukraine, Europe, the world, and Russia itself. And not only militarily, politically, economically, but also in the cultural field. How do the artists there respond to the war, how do their works undermine, document, celebrate – or ignore it? How is cultural policy manifested, what is it based on and where is it headed? What does the so-called Russian exile actually mean?
Slavist Tomáš Glanc seeks answers to these and other questions in his new book "The Russian Archipelago in the War Against Ukraine. Culture and Contexts 2022-2025", which was published in May 2026 by the Karolinum Publishing House.
Tomáš Kafka discusses the author at the Book World, moderated by Radka Rubilina.
You can watch the live broadcast on the World of Books YouTube channel.
The discussion will be followed by a meeting with Tomáš Glance at the stand of Nakladatelství Karolinum (KD102) from 4 p.m.
