"I'm looking for a feeling of connection. That's more than the photos themselves." But her name knows more abroad than in her native country, which provided little opportunities for a young painter. Paradoxically, it was only in New York, far from home, could grow and find herself, her partner was a great support for her partner in her personal and professional life, art historian Thomas Beachdel. Tomanová touches the world differently, a surge of positive emotions, immediate connection, works as a medium through which the energy of the portrait passes. Director Marie Dvořáková, who also moved to the USA, also connects to the photographer. The portrait of two Mary tells about the American dream and the search for roots, identity and home.
