About event
🌱 Every month we will look together at one area of our natural world - playfully, creatively and comprehensibly even for the little ones. We are opening this December with the first workshop in a new series of environmental activities for children. And we will start literally... under our feet.
5. December is World Soil Day. This workshop is an ideal opportunity to "look below the surface" and understand how important the world is hidden in the soil.
🌍 What is hidden in the soil?
Did you know that in one handful of forest soil there are approximately as many organisms as there are people on Earth? Soil is one of the most living ecosystems in the world and children will have the opportunity to look into this fascinating microworld.
In a creative workshop with Daphné - Institute of Applied Ecology, children will:
🔹 learn about different types of soil
🔹 discover tiny soil animals
🔹 do simple experiments
🔹 use their senses to find out why soil is the basis of life on Earth
Fun discovery, playful tasks and many surprises guaranteed!
The workshop is intended for children in preschool and early school age.

🌿 Part of the BiblioGreen project – Residences for Sustainable Libraries Workshop is created with the financial support of the Goethe-Institut and is part of the BiblioGreen project – Residences for Sustainable Libraries.
Aim of the project is to develop the competencies of libraries in the field of environmental education, sharing knowledge and building a sustainable space.
Activities in the Old Town Library are created as part of the residency of expert Žofia Kutlíková Jakubová from OZ Pestrec.
🌿 Come with your children to see what is happening where we don't normally see it.
We look forward to seeing you on December 4 at 9 a.m. on Blumentálská 10/a! 💛
