About event
At various meetings, we usually wish each other health and happiness. If we have them, we will live to an older age. If most people in a society have them, then the society will grow old. But we perceive this as a problem. We worry about whether it will be for pensions and whether we should build more institutions for the elderly. We talk about "them" but it is us - us now or us in the near or distant future. Why do we identify old age only with needs and lack of self-sufficiency? Why do we not see the contribution of older people to society? What is healthy aging and why is the current Decade of Healthy Aging hardly talked about? What is working age? I would like to deal with these and other questions related to health and non-health in older age in my lecture.
