Experience a “Swinging New Year's Eve Night” in the exclusive ambience of BLACKMORE'S - Berlin's music room. You can expect rousing swing music from the 20s - 40s, played live by Andrej Hermlin and his band "The Swingin' Hermlins" including David & Rachel Hermlin. Dance into the New Year lively!
Our New Year's Eve special includes a seat reservation (2 to 10 people at a table) and a first-class buffet. All drinks are included – the whole night.
Swing is the love of his life!
Andrej Hermlin was born in Berlin in 1965 as the son of the writer Stephan Hermlin. His mother comes from Russia - Andrej Hermlin grew up bilingual. During his childhood and youth he often traveled with his parents, saw many countries, and met famous poets such as Pablo Neruda, Friedrich Dürrenmatt and Heinrich Böll. As a four-year-old, Andrej Hermlin first heard the music that stuck with him from then on - American swing from the 1930s, the music of Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller - on one of his father's records. Andrej Hermlin received his first piano lessons at the age of seven. Andrej Hermlin learned the “Stride” style of the 1930s, which he still plays today, primarily self-taught. From 1986 until his state examination in 1990, he studied at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. After reunification, Andrej Hermlin concentrated on his work as bandleader, pianist and manager of his SWING DANCE ORCHESTRA, which was founded in 1986. This with increasing success. Andrej Hermlin repeatedly demonstrated his versatility. He composed and wrote lyrics for his orchestra, wrote film music and jingles for radio stations, and organized his band's tours to the USA, Hong Kong and London. Andrej Hermlin's great passions include his historic automobiles and aviation. His wife Joyce, to whom he is married for the second time, comes from Kenya. Andrej Hermlin is the father of three children.
Andrej Hermlin is undoubtedly the “Greatest Magician in the World”. Unfortunately, David Copperfield doesn't want to see that at all and recently tried to bring the "Greatest Magician in the World" to his knees with a lightning strike in the Globe Theater. The "Greatest Magician in the World" would love to sing on stage, but he can't do it properly and is therefore not allowed to. Out of spite, he watches bees.
Rachel is the "Swinging Sweetheart", she knows everyone, really all the secrets in "Hermlinville" - even the winners of "Song Of The Day". She also loses her "Brown and Yellow Basket" every day, which drives all the other Hermlins crazy.
David's nickname "The Reeferman" goes back to a trip to Amsterdam, of which, however, no further details are known... David is the inventor of the "Davidophone", which must be seen as a groundbreaking development in musical instrument making.
