Fifty years after independence, the De Lage Landen culture magazine takes stock in a new number: how are the Netherlands and Suriname sounding together today?
To that question we will build on 18 September in the Amsterdam Bijlmer Parktheater, during a program with music, stories, theater and debate.
𝗢𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 👉 👉 Lecture by Kathleen Ferrier, chairman of the Dutch UNESCO Commission and daughter of the first president of Suriname, Countries
👉 Music by singer Sarah-Jane. She is inspired by soul, funk and her Surinamese roots: the rhythms of Kawina and Kaseko
👉 👉 ghost is made by Tyler Koudijzer. With his brother Sebastian, he made the multimedia performance The sugared company, in which they look for their Surinamese-Javanese roots and themes such as migration, family and identity in a penetrating but accessible way
👉 fragment from Anton de Kom, the play, the play, the play, the play, the play of the play, plays with the play, the play with the play, with the play, the play. Idon de Kom, the legendary Surinamese resistance hero, discovers the story of Anton de Kom,
