About event
What is the status of minor languages within Japan today? What is specific about Okinawan literature. Is it possible to adequately reflect its position in the Czech translation?
And what does it mean when a person spits out his soul?
Introduction of the November issue of Plav dedicated to Okinawan literature in the Tea House, one poem (Pod Nuselským schody).
You can look forward to a tea tasting, a performance by the Okinawan eisá drum choir, readings from translations and commentary by Marcel Koníček (the author of the concept of the issue) and Michaela Melichová, Japanese shakuhachi player Jan Horský playing the Japanese flute, and Eva Maceková's paintings .
The evening will be conducted by Michaela Melichová, a Japanologist and editor-in-chief of the issue.
Dress code: post-colonial Japan.
The event is realized thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the State Culture Fund of the Czech Republic. Admission is voluntary. Schedule coming soon.
