Together with Artalk we'll talk about the pressing cultural situation in Prague (in Czech with whispered translation into English), at ifar time, you can buy delicious food from Middle Feast, and after that two great bands and a Dj will play for us.
We are looking forward to it and you?

Kultura po celém světě čelí narůstávajícím represím a sílící kritice z konzervativních politických a společenských pozic. Děje se tak v trumpovské Americe, v chaosem zmítaném Slovensku, ale i v Německu, ke kterému jsme měly*i napříč politickým spektrem ve zvyku vzhlížet. Vysvětlení pro tuto změnu se nabízí hned několik: nárůst neofašistických tendencí (nejen) na straně (radikální) pravice, škrty v rozpočtech dlouhodobě podfinancovaného kulturního sektoru, globální geopolitická nejistota sycená jak fyzickými, tak kulturními válkami. Čím dál častěji proto můžeme sledovat omezování svobody slova a uměleckého vyjádření v zemích, které se dříve pyšnily otevřenou demokratickou arénou, a nově i používání nálepky antisemitismu jako instrumentu pro kritiku a ohrožení názorových oponentů*ek. The representative of the World 1 Zai XU and Yara Abu Aataya Gallery will talk about his experience with censorship in the cultural and artistic field. Anežka Bartlová, the editor -in -chief of Artalk.info, will be placed in the global context. The panel about the uncomfortable critical culture on the benefit of Tadamun will be accompanied by the sociologist of culture Andrea Průchová Hrůzová.

(EN) Panel discussion:
Culture around the world is facing increasing repression and growing criticism from conservative political and social positions. This is happening in Trump's America, in chaos-ridden Slovakia, but also in Germany, which we, across the political spectrum, used to look up to. There are several explanations for this change: the rise of neo-fascist tendencies (not only) on the (radical) right, budget cuts in the long underfunded cultural sector, global geopolitical uncertainty saturated by both physical and cultural wars. We are therefore increasingly seeing the curtailment of freedom of speech and artistic expression in countries that once prided themselves on an open democratic arena, and more recently the use of the label of anti-Semitism as a tool to criticize and threaten opposing views. Even Prague Has Not Remained Immune to these trends.
Zai Xu, founder and director of the Světová 1 Gallery, and artist Yara Abu Aataya will talk about their experiences with censorship in the cultural and artistic field. Anežka Bartlová, Editor-in-High of Artalk.info, Will Put Prague's Events in a Global Context. The panel on uncomfortably critical culture at the Tadamun fundraiser will be moderated by sociologist of culture Andrea Průchová Hrůzová.
