On Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21, the historic Schöneweide railway operations opens its goals and celebrates the 20th Berlin railway festival with large and small railway fans and their families. The steam locomotives Berlin e.V. show more than 40 locomotives and cars, including three operational steam locomotives. In addition to the steam locomotives of the 03, 52 and 74 series, numerous locomotives can be seen from all epochs- up to the ICE TD Advanced Lab, with which the latest technologies are tested- and very modern diesel and electrolocomotives. Railway companies present the world of work of the railway and its apprenticeships with exciting demonstrations. There are insights into the workshop, track construction and the restoration of locomotives and cars. The water tower from 1906 and finally without a feast presents itself.

For children, a field railway runs through the site - the bouncy castle invites you to let off steam. In the 1935 dining car there is a home cooking and the grill in the beer garden. Admission: adults 12 euros, children (6 to 14 years) 5 euros, families (2 adults and up to four children) 30 euros. Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to construction work on the S-Bahn, no S-Bahns go to Johannisthal at the weekend. The replacement traffic buses from Schöneweide and Grünau stop on Benno-König-Straße. From there it is five minutes to the railway depot. Parking spaces are only available to a limited extent. The prices for the tours are: € 20 for adults and € 10 for children (6-14 years)
