The editorial office of the National Broadcasting of the QVRs in Košice invites you to a public recording from the series: "So I will tell you - Avka Tuke Phenava".
This time we will welcome folk music Pokošovci and ethnomusicologist Jana Ambrózová, Head of the Department of Ethnology of the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Nitra, in a large study of Slovak Radio in Košice. During the concert, the descendants of the members of ĽH Pokošovci, who are the successors of the local musical tradition, will also be presented. The word will be accompanied by moderator Iveta Vaculová.
Folk music Pokošovci is an exceptional family band of talented Roma musicians from Šumiac and Telgárt in Horehronie. The Pokoš family is known for maintaining a specific traditional interpretation, which also includes a fantastic vintage singing and a unique repertoire of authentic local Roma songs. This is one of the reasons why they are currently one of the most popular Roma music, as they have confirmed on many occasions. Their production represents the essence of Slovak and Roma music inspired and surrounded by the folk tradition of Horehronia, with his via -haired singing and reminding of “good old days”, when the music of emotional songs happened in families, during the village holidays, weddings and family celebrations. April 2025 at 5 pm, in a large radio studio in Košice at Moyzesova 7. Admission to the public recording is free to occupy the capacity of the hall, from 16:45.
