18.30 Big Booty
20.30 Crooks
In his official debut, Tarantino took gangster heist story, but the classic format is told from an atypical perspective. Partly guided by the fact that he will not have the money to stage a dynamic action, he does not show the audience the progress of the robbery, but what preceded it and what follows it. When writing the script and plans for the staging of specific sequences and shots, he based himself on various gangster films. One of them was the second studio project of the iconic cinematographer Stanley Kubrick, The Killing, which also approaches the same genre framework with a distinctive and progressive style.
