Saturday evening, the tube TV is on, anyone who can't get a seat on the leather couch sits on the floor. Depending on where you are on earth, Ein Kessel Buntes, the Eurovision Song Contest or Wetten, that...? – introduced by the famous Eurovision fanfare. This short piece of cosiness is the beginning of a work by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. So it's not Thomas Gottschalk who comes down the stairs as standard, but Charpentier's Te Deum begins.
On December 14, 2025, we will get this work and orchestra out of the tube - and not only that: In addition to Charpentier, the Te Deum by Antonín Dvořák, Georges Bizet and Zoltán Kodály will also be heard.
Like four composers who sing the same praise over the centuries but coming from completely different times and sound worlds, together they span a wide musical range: Charpentier's (17th century) baroque splendor, Bizet's (19th century) youthful exuberance (he was nineteen when he wrote his Te Deum), Dvořák's (19th century) symphonic grandeur and Kodály's (20th century) dazzling choral sound.
One A warm invitation to experience these four fantastic works in a concert - for the first time under the direction of Lutz Rademacher, together with the Junge Philharmonie Kreuzberg in the concert hall of the UdK Berlin.
