About event
The development and use of automatic weapons on the battlefields of the First World War. The use of light machine guns and their influence on changing the tactics of offensive operations. The potential of automatic weapons of small ballistic performance as a new type of firearm - the emergence of submachine guns. The emergence of modern chemical warfare is inextricably linked to the First World War. Several dozen different chemical warfare agents were used during it. The way they were used on the battlefield and the protection against them underwent interesting developments during the war. This is most noticeable with protective equipment. Their evolution during the First World War was extremely fast - from a handkerchief to an almost modern form of a protective mask, as we know it today, within a few months.
