About event
In order to prevent a terrorist from causing a passenger plane he had hijacked to crash into the packed Allianz Arena, Bundeswehr pilot Lars Koch decides, contrary to orders, to shoot down the passenger plane - 164 people's lives are taken in order to save 70,000.
The large criminal chamber of the Berlin jury court is negotiating whether Lars Koch can be found guilty of the murder. The defense attorney relies on a balancing decision, after all, the pilot's actions saved many thousands of people's lives. The prosecution accuses the pilot of disregarding orders, but above all of disregarding human dignity because he instrumentalized the passengers by taking human lives into account, but they nevertheless have just as much a right to life as everyone else.
The verdict is passed by the audience with a vote on the guilt or innocence of the defendant and thus on the judge's verdict.
