This fall, Sala Apolo 2 hosts an explosive night of garage rock and punk with two bands that leave no one indifferent: The 5.6.7.8’s, straight from Tokyo, and Radioactivas, representing the most powerful Barcelona punk band.
THE 5.6.7.8’s
Known worldwide for their appearance in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Vol. 1, where they perform the now iconic song “Woo Hoo”, The 5.6.7.8’s are much more than a one-hit band. This Japanese trio, active since 1986, masterfully mixes 60s garage rock with influences from rockabilly, surf rock and vintage sounds spanning from the 50s to the 80s. Their energetic, raw and carefree style has earned them a loyal fan base around the world. With retro aesthetics, distorted guitars and a rebellious attitude, they continue to be an essential reference of Japanese garage rock.
RADIOACTIVAS
As a luxury opening act, Radioactivas bring the most evil and electric punk from Vallès, Barcelona and surrounding areas. Formed in 2014 after a Giuda concert, this quintet mixes influences from bands such as Babes in Toyland, L7, The Stooges, The Cramps, Paralisis Permanente or Desechables. Her sound is direct, sharp and uncompromising, and her lyrics and attitude reflect the most authentic riot girl spirit. A discharge of punk energy that puts the audience on their feet from the first chord.
