The Atavists are a wearer of two Angel Awards 2018. It is a four-member music project balancing on the border of Blues, Stoner-Rock and the influences of surf bands from the 1960s. The characteristic sound of the group consists of dirty guitars, crushed retro organ and distinctive vocal manifestation of frontman Adam Krofian. In 2015, the group managed to win the national round of the GBOB multinational competition and at the beginning of 2016 released the debut album Bad Times and in 2018 succeeded with the album Lo-Fi Life. They were created at the end of 2014 and quickly found their place on the Czech music scene, mainly because of their energetic live performance. It supports the screaming sound of electric organ and synthesizer and a hard rhythmic section. This was followed by a number of performances at important Czech music festivals, as well as the forefront of the famous Norwegian rockers Kvelertak. Later, they opened Clyro in Prague's large Lucerna for the Scottish Biffs of Clyro. fans.
In 2019, The Atavists won two Angel Music Awards-Discovery of the Year and the best rock album (for Lo-Fi Life).
