About event
The Berlin Ceilidh feat. Nightlark
It’s a match! Berlin has its permanent ceilidh, monthly in the Kulturbrauerei. In a fantastic start, the first four ceilidhs sold out straight away, each time faster than you can dance. We started small in the machine house, now it's time for more space: from March 2025 in the boiler house! Admission remains unchanged at 15 euros plus advance booking. Come and dance as you are, spread the word and come back! “Ceilidh” (pronounced kay-lee) is Gaelic and means a social evening where people dance together to live Scottish-Irish music. No previous knowledge is necessary, each dance is explained in advance by the band. There are dances for two, three, six, eight, for the entire hall... it doesn't matter whether you come with or without accompaniment - no one is left out for long, ceilidhs are very sociable, uncomplicated and inviting. This happiness is contagious and leaves you wanting more. We can only recommend getting tickets in good time - who knows how quickly the enthusiasm will fill the large hall ;-)
Nightlark are Patrizia Sieweck (violin/caller), Jane South (flute/accordion) and Herbie Loening (guitar). They play contemporary and traditional folk music from America and Europe and have been playing professional ceilidhs in Berlin and the surrounding area for many years.
