The Brand New Heavies | Berlin

The Groove of the Brand New Heavies has never really stopped since the founding year 1985. In particular, her 1994 album "Shelter" is no less than an all-time classic, songs such as "You are the Universe" and "Sometimes" are miles of your acid jazz sound. Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy are now on board from the original line -up, but even if the singers changed over and over the years - N’Dea Davenport, Siedah Garrett and Carleen Anderson were above all formative - The Brand New Heavies (TBNH) have always managed to set new impulses with the new voices and at the same time keep their hits alive. In addition, all singers returned from time to time. Since 2019, Angela Ricci in particular has established herself with her charismatic soul voice in the studio and on the tours. It is also the latter who have kept TBNH in the game over the years: their live shows are still warm grooving parties with a setlist that has become richer and tighter for decades.

A good two years ago TBNH published her compilation "Never Stop ... The Best of", which brought many people in memory of what they had and had about this band. The subsequent tour "Never Stop ... The Greatest Hits" then strengthened this knowledge in the best way. It is of course clear that The Brand New Heavies will also be on the road in 2025 - again with Angela Ricci and songs such as the above and "Midnight at the Oasis", "Have a Good Time", "Never Stop" and of course "You’ve got a friend".
