Please join Parkinson's Resources of Oregon (PRO) on Thusrsday, October 2nd, for this informative discussion focused on lifestyle strategies to live your best life. This is for the person living with Parkinson's as well as care partners. Between visits to the doctor, the daily choices you make can help you better manage your symptoms. We will cover:
- bringing in experts
- exercise guidelines
- nutrition recommendations
- reducing isolation
- managing your mood
- finding resources
Whether you are new to PD or you have been living with it for many years, there will be something of interest to everyone along with opportunities to ask questions.
Presented by: Anna Saltonstall, PT, DPT, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge and Mike Mulligan, PRO's Community Health Education Coordinator.
Anna Saltonstall is a physical therapist working at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge where she specializes in working with people with movement disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease. With the support of Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon, she leads two Parkinson’s exercise groups in Hood River and The Dalles, Oregon. She is a seasoned clinician with over 20 years of experience working with people with both orthopedic and neurological conditions. In her spare time, she loves to bike, run, hike and Nordic ski with her family in the Columbia River Gorge.
Mike Mulligan joined the staff of PRO in the summer of 2022 as our new Community Health Education Coordinator. Mike has a background in health education and experience working with older adults – creating connections and providing information so they can make informed healthcare decisions. His work at PRO is focused on connecting folks with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease to resources and support.
