On September 27th. Let's celebrate the premiere of the Django Reinhardt Orchestra together with you! The rousing music of Gypsy Jazz arranged for big band format, performed with the best musicians in the scene and world-famous guest stars! The musical director and arranger is Francisco Battista, best known as the mastermind of the Hot Club Berlin. His arrangements translate the intimate energy of gypsy jazz into the powerful language of the big band; Authenticity and innovation carefully balanced. It starts with Stochelo Rosenberg, probably the greatest living guitarist who regularly tours sold-out concert halls in Europe! Be sure to order tickets in advance!
Stochelo Rosenberg was born into a family of musicians and began playing guitar at the age of 10. He learned the game from his father and uncle, but especially from listening to records by Django Reinhardt. In his youth he already made a name for himself in the scene. At the end of the 1980s, at the age of 20, he achieved his big international breakthrough with the Rosenberg Trio. The trio played on many important stages in the world: from Carnegie Hall to the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles to many important jazz festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Jazz in Marciac, Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois, Jazz en Touraine and many more. Within the genre of gypsy jazz, Stochelo is undoubtedly considered the absolute best. At the same time, he is musically very broad and likes to be influenced by styles such as bossa nova, pop and classical. Stochelo's guitar playing is characterized by impeccable technique, great elegance and very personal phrasing. A combination of virtuosity and genius. Even in his improvisations, his playing remains clear and precise, full of passion and emotion. He has played with many top musicians such as Stéphane Grapelli, Bireli Lagrene, Tommy Emmanuel, Peter Beets, Jaap van Zweden, Toots Thielemans etc. A performance by him guarantees a guitar spectacle at the highest level.
