About event

The British band The Last Dinner Party will perform on November 10 from 20:00 at SaSaZ in Prague. Singer Anna Vaverková will perform as support.

Dinner or party? The Last Dinner Party is giving indie rock a whole new energy.

Has guitar music reached its peak and we're just waiting for everyone to finish their last dinner and retire to eternity? Judging by the drive with which The Last Dinner Party burst onto the scene, definitely not. The British five-piece takes only the best from history and turns it into a captivating and unique concept of rock'n'roll. They already have the rising star award from the Brit Awards as well as performances at Glastonbury and Coachelle. The first Czech headline concert, The Last Dinner Party, will take place in Prague's Roxy club on November 10, 2024. The special guest of the evening will be Bristol singer-songwriter Katy J Pearson.

The band consists of Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Georgia Davies, Emily Roberts and Aurora Nishevci and it all started when the first three decided to start a band inspired by the scene around Black Midi or HMLTD. Although they were formed in 2020 and their beginnings were complicated by the global pandemic, already in 2022 The Rolling Stones and Florence + the Machine or the New Zealand singer Benee at her London concert preceded them in Hyde Park. When the single Nothing Matters was released not long after, he invited them as support on his Hozier tour.

In The Last Dinner Party's music, the influences of art rock, baroque pop and the pathos of eighties guitar music meet and the band itself talks about being most inspired by David Bowie. But the most important thing is that not only on their debut Prelude to Ecstasy they sound authentic, like a band that is well aware of where the roots of their music are going, but more important for them is individuality.
