About event
The Murder Capital returns to the Melkweg after their sold -out show in 2020 in our OZ! Known for the dark, emotional vocals of frontman James McGovern, the Irish band continues to impress with their postpunk sound. With their third, still to be released album in the tube, a successful tour with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and the release of their brand new single "Can't Pretend To Know", they continue their advance. This song, produced by John Congleton (known for collaborations with St. Vincent, Angel Olsen and Sharon van Etten), is about the loss of childish innocence. It combines powerful postpunk with a touch of Shoegaze, in which dreamy guitars evoke a melancholic atmosphere.
