About event
A darkly funny and playful subversion of the familiar tropes of a Gothic novel. A young tennis coach travels to the heart of the Polish countryside to train a beautiful and promising player. As the relationship develops into one of twisted love and hate, the haunted kitchens, bewitched towels, conniving secretaries and famous clairvoyants of the dilapidated castle nearby all conspire to determine the fate of the young lovers and the mad prince residing in the castle. A comic masterpiece written in 1939.
