🎥 What purpose do colors serve in storytelling? How can they enhance the emotional impact of a scene? How does the collaboration between director, DOP and colorist work and how is the color stylization of a film defined? Come delve into the color grading and editing process with Marc Boucrot, a leading colorist who worked on such films as Climax, Enter the Void, Love, Blue is the Warmest Color and Dallas Buyers Club. The long-term collaborator of Gaspar Noé and Jean-Marc Vallée will share his experiences in a master class moderated by Louise H. Johansen.

Marc Boucrot is an Editor and Senior colorist based in Montreal and Paris. He is a long time collaborator of French filmmaker Gaspar Noé (Enter The Void, Love, Climax, Lux Aeterna, Vortex...). In 2018, he was nominated for best editing on A Prayer Before Dawn at BIFA (British Independent Film Awards). His filmography as Colorist also includes the 2013 Palme D'Or winner Blue is the Warmest Colour by Abdellatif Kechiche and the Oscar Award winning Dallas Buyers Club by Jean-Marc Vallée, with whom Boucrot also collaborated on his subsequent films Wild and Demolition. Boucrot’s filmography also includes Bastards (dir. Claire Denis) or Comme le feu (Philippe Lesage). Marc Boucrot also collaborates with several Montreal based directors & visual artists.

Marc Boucrot je střihač a kolorista. Je dlouholetým spolupracovníkem francouzského režiséra Gaspara Noého (Vejdi do prázdna, Love, Climax, Lux Aeterna, Vortex). V roce 2018 byl nominován na cenu BIFA (British Independent Film Awards) za nejlepší střih filmu A Prayer Before Dawn. Jako kolorista se podílel mj. na vítězi Zlaté palmy z roku 2013 Života Adéle (rež. Abdellatif Kechiche) a na třemi Oscary oceněném snímku Klub poslední naděje (rež. Jean-Marc Vallée). S Valléem Boucrot spolupracoval i na jeho posledních dvou filmech Divočina a Demolice. Boucrotova filmografie dále zahrnuje například snímky Parchanti spí dobře (rež. Claire Denis) nebo Comme le feu (rež. Philippe Lesage) Aktuálně Boucrot žije střídavě v Montrealu a v Paříži a spolupracuje s řadou montrealských režisérů a vizuálních umělců.
