The Selecter - Melkweg Amsterdam

Together with The Specials and Madness, the English The Selecter is one of the most important bands that came from the 2 Tone - an influential musical and cultural movement that is still just as relevant today as forty years ago. During the Ska-Revival in the 1970s, they scored with their danceable mix of Reggae, SKA and Punk and their charismatic front woman Pauline Black World hits such as 'On My Radio' and 'Too Much Pressure'. The Selecter has remained active all those years and released the album 'Human Algebra' in 2023. Unfortunately, co-frontman Arthur 'Gaps' Hendrickson died in June last year, after a short sickbed. The original drummer Charley "Aitch" Bembridge is still playing in the band, alongside of course Pauline Black. The performance is all about the 45-year anniversary of the debut album 'Too Much Pressure', with a lot of old hits undoubtedly!
