The Simple Present from Stuttgart play carefree, casual indie pop in its purest form, which is rarely found in this country. The duo, consisting of Cat (vocals, guitar) and Sabine (vocals, keyboard), is inspired by British pop of the 1980s and 90s. In the university lecture hall they discovered their shared enthusiasm for indie and twee pop labels such as Elefant Records from Madrid and Labrador from Stockholm. All of this is reflected in their songs in a unique way, without sounding even remotely like a copy. Live they are completed by Flow (guitar, including Friedrich Sunlight), Alessandro (drums) and Guilhem (bass, including The Burning Hell). The first record, a 12″ EP, is eagerly awaited in 2026 by the Augsburg indie label Kleine Underground Schall Platten|KUS
We are particularly looking forward to the special guest of the evening. The great Ola & Lars, the new band from ex-superpunk guitarist Lars Bulnheim and Ola, who can be heard on the new Andreas Dorau album "Wien", are playing their first Berlin concert.
This is also the last My Little Underground show in Berlin. Many thanks to everyone who came to the shows over the last few years!
