Join us for the feast of the dead: a contemporary “Dziady” ceremony.
We meet on 12.10.2025, 19:00 at Nachbarschaftstreffpunkt HUZUR (Bülowstraße 94, 10783 Berlin).

🌘 The night will open with voices.
We will gather in a circle—breathing, singing, and remembering together. Inspired by the pagan Polish rite of Dziady, once held to honor the spirits of the dead, this evening is a living, modern interpretation: a weaving of old traditions, folk songs, and shared ritual.
🌙 Through songs from Poland and other Eastern European traditions, we will let our voices carry across thresholds—between past and present, life and memory. The melodies, taught in simple repetition, will invite everyone to join. There will be silence, too. And moments in darkness. We will lay offerings—stones, herbs, small gifts—on the table of remembrance, sending them with intention to those who came before us.
🌒 The evening will unfold in stages: a circle of song, a performative passage, a moment of offering, and finally—light returning, laughter, and modest feast. We will close with the spirit of community, sharing food, drink, and the warmth of presence.
🔖 Please note:
- this is not a reconstruction, but our interpretation of an old tradition,
- the songs and rituals reference death, spirits, and the unseen—sometimes directly, sometimes playfully,
- we will ask that you silence phones and refrain from photos or recordings, to honor the circle,
- entrance after 19:00 may not be possible,
- event in English.
All are welcome to step into this space—whether to sing, to listen, or simply to be present. Bring your voice, your breath, and perhaps a thought for those you wish to remember. Event is donation based.

🌒 Wieczór rozpoczniemy we współbrzmieniu. Spotkamy się w kręgu oddychając, śpiewając i wspominając. Inspiracją dla nas będzie obrzęd Dziadów, obchodzony, by uczcić zmarłych i nakarmić dusze, które jeszcze wędrują między światami. To, co wydarzy się tego wieczoru, nie będzie rekonstrukcją lecz współczesną interpretacją, splotem tradycji, pieśni i rytuału.
🌙 Będziemy śpiewać pieśni z Polski i innych tradycji z Europy Wschodniej. Powtarzać wspólnie proste melodie, aby otworzyć się na bycie razem i odnaleźć swój głos. Nasze śpiewy staną się mostem – pomiędzy przeszłością a teraźniejszością.
🌘 Będzie też cisza. I chwile w ciemności. Będziemy składać podarunki – kamyki, zioła, drobne upominki – na stole pamięci, wysyłając je z intencją do tych, którzy byli przed nami.
Wieczór potoczy się etapami: krąg śpiewu, performatywne przejście, moment ofiarowania, a na końcu – powrót światła i wspólna skromna uczta. Zakończymy go we wspólnocie, dzieląc się jedzeniem i obecnością.
